PTSD program. Virginia Department of Veterans Services in cooperation with the Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services and the Department of Rehabilitative Services. It was established in response to the growing need to improve and expand services to our nation’s veterans and their family members whose lives have been touched by stress-related injuries or traumatic brain injury.

Their statewide program serves veterans of an era who are Virginia residents; members of the Virginia National Guard and Armed Forces Reserves not in active federal service; and family members of those veterans and service members. Through an extensive network of local, federal and state partnerships, the VVFS can assist Veterans in getting the answers you need regarding psychological health and traumatic brain injury.

The VVFS is dedicated to helping Veterans build resilience and cope with the challenges posed from a stress-related injury or traumatic brain injury. The VVFS team is focused on helping Veterans feel like themselves again and to assist Veterans and their families move forward with their lives. The VVFS provides services through five regional consortia of community services boards, brain injury service providers, and other public and private service providers who offer services across the Commonwealth.
