Don Christensen, a retired Air Force colonel who heads the advocacy group Protect Our Defenders, agreed with RAND’s belief that sexual harassment and assault are linked.
Christensen said he was told the report was released to commanders Friday.
“I think there’s generally an attitude that’s kind of dismissive of sexual harassment in the military, which is a real strong sign the military needs to take sexual harassment seriously and that’s something that should have been out to the field as soon as possible,” he said. “The military uses RAND all the time … and it makes no sense to delay releasing this.”
